Hi,
I have a 5505 that does a NAT forward to an internal machine. Outside clients can connect to the ftp server and download files but the ftp client software (it doesn't matter which) complains along the lines of: "Failure writing network stream". But files actually get downloaded. So my question: Is this asa 5505 related or ftp-server related?

Did you try disabling the FTP inspection and check if you are getting that error on the FTP server.
policy-map global_policy
class inspection_default
no inspect ftp

Hi,
Yes I tried that but without any luck. Perhaps it's a ftp server config thing?

Hi,
A quick test would be to try the same FTP transfer from a client on the same side of the firewall as the server so that the connection is not affected by the ASA. If the problem persists, you can assume the problem is a configuration issue on the server. If the transfer is successful, you can focus on the ASA.
