Hi Sir,

I'm not sure about the features and terminology used in the ASA firewall. Can anyone give me a little help?

Some capabilities of ASA 5520

Maximum firewall connections - 280000

What does connection mean here?

Does connection mean user connection or a single user to a destination being classified as a single connection, when browsing the Internet, a user can establish multiple connections since he is visiting a few websites concurrently?

Maximum site-to-site and remote access VPN sessions - 750

Does it mean it can only support 750 remote access VPN if all users are connected concurrently? One remote access VPN equivalent to one session?

To answer you questions:-

1) Yes 280000 concurrent connections, any user at any one time can have multiple connections to the same web site and or other websites.

2) Yes - they are a mixture of lan2lan & vpnclient, each vpn connecton = 1 sesson.
