I have a pair of 5520s in production. Due to a licensing mismatch the HA was disabled recently. Until I get that resolved, is there a way to do a manual failover somehow in the event that the primary ASA dies? i looked for a link to some docs but didn't have any success.

failover active - this commands makes the appliance on which this command is entered the active unit
no failover active - this command would be entered on the active unit, reassigning it as the secondary unit
If you do this through a telnet/ssh session, you will be disconnected from your session as IP changes take effect.

Ok, so my external interface on the primary is xxx.xxx.xxx.100, and the secondary unit is xxx.xxx.xxx.200. When I do the command(s) you state above, does the secondary then become 100 or does it stay 200? Curious as it relates to vpn connections terminating at xxx.xxx.xxx.100.
