Can you use SCP instead of TFTP to copy configs from a PIX ?

I have had a question posed to me by a customer. I had requested that for config management we have two way TFTP access.

They have asked why use TFTP and not SCP ?

Can you use scp to copy the configs from a Pix and if so how ?

SCP is currently not supported by the PIX code but (as with most of my answers here lately), this is a new feature that we are adding to the 7.0 PIX code release which is due out around the end of this year. See, we do actually listen to customer feedback ;)

Thought about this one some more, if you want a work around you could use exceed or similar which has a built in ssh client, you could ssh on to the pix, configure your exceed client to copy your output to a local text file, then do a "show run" on the pix and you have a secure way of saving your config.

You can also configure a macro to do this for you...just a thought!

Thanks for your response, this may well satisfy my customer requirements if they insist that i do not use TFTP.
