Dear all,
im unable to access my nids through telnet , even if i connect console ,im unable to access it.
it says tht contact export@cisco.com.. and it disconnects.
any help on this

If I recall correctly, TELNET is disabled as a remote connection/administartion option by default. Therefore, if you really want to use TELNET, you'll have to enable it.
Step 10 under the section "Initializing the Sensor" covers this in the Configuration Guide (version 4). You'll find the guide online here:

Dear Alex ,
It used to work earlier , but now its suddenly nt working. then we used console ( keyboard , monitor) and tried to log in. after few trials i am able to logged in.
now im able to access it..
But i want to know , why this has happend ? why suddenly i lost telnet connectivity.
Any ideas
