Hi We've Cisco Security Manager version 3.3.1 and we plan to upgrade to new version 4.3 on new host(new hardware).

Question:

1.We have ordered. Can this use with version 4.3?

L-CSMPR50-U-4.2-K9

Cisco Security Manager 3.x to 4.2 Upgrade -   PRO-50 License

1

2.If above part have come can I upgrade to new host? (If Q1 answer is No then will use version4.2)

We've heard someone told us that we need part "CON-XXXX" use for MA contact to rehost license on new hardware.

Thank you very much for every answer.

Note the instruction here.

The part number you have listed is for upgrade to 4.2. So, no it's not for 4.3. If you've not licensed it yet, you may be able to replace the ordered product with the correct part (L-CSMPR50-U-4.3-K9) as the price is the same. You would need manual intervention from your reseller or Cisco account rep for that to happen.

If you have your 4.2 installation under maintenance (SAS or Software Application Support) you are eligible for minor release upgrades such as 4.2 to 4.3.

The 2000 device 3.3.1 license would require incremental licenses (in addition to the upgrade mentioned already) for 4.x to restore the full 2000 device manageability.

The old license doesn't "move" per se when upgraded. It is discarded and replaced entirely with the new license(s).

Please refer to the 4.3 product bulletin for more details.

Do we need part "CON-XXXX" in order to install version 4.2 on new host?

Because we heard that we need to open TAC case to move license from old host to new host.

The "L-CSMPR50-U-4.2-K9" purchase should come with a Product Authorization Key (PAK) that you use on Cisco licensing portal to obtain a license file. The license file will license the new software no matter where you have it installed - old host or new one.

Yes that is for 50 device license but if our old host have 2000 device license.

Can we use "L-CSMPR50-U-4.2-K9" part to move license from old host to new host?

From your link it said "Incremental device licenses purchased for Cisco  Security Manager 3.x will continue to work with Cisco Security Manager  Version 4.0 and later."

So this mean we use upgrade part to install CSM 4.3 then

We install old incremental license from 3.x on upgraded CSM 4.3 right?

Yes, that is the case according to the product bulletin.
