Digital Signature Error when upgrading IPS image

CNS ServiceDesk

Level 1

Hi,

I've recently purchased an SSM-10 and it has come with v6.0(6)E4

When trying to upgrade to the latest version, I am getting the following error:

Cannot Upgrade Software on the Sensor

errSystemError-IdsPackageMgr: digital signature of the signature file was not valid, use CCO to replace corrupted file

I've downloaded the following file direct from Cisco: IPS-SSM_10-k9-sys-1.1-a-7.0-4-E4.img

I've tried this via ASDM-IDM and also IDM

Any Ideas?

Thanks in Advance,

Phil

Hi Andy,

That file is to reimage the sensor, the file that you need is the one that appears over the system upgrade and not the system software. The difference is that the file has an extension of ".pkg" and not .img

If you have any doubts, let me know.

Please use the link below to download the correct upgrade image:

http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=282671829&flowid=4417&softwareid=282549759&release=7.0%284%29E4&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

Latest version: 7.0(4)E4

Filename:

IPS-K9-7.0-4-E4.pkg

Release Date: 22/JUL/2010

IPS 7.0 Major Upgrade File (All Supported Platforms Except AIM-IPS and NME-IPS)

Size: 29767.87 KB (30482298 bytes)

For reference:

.pkg files are for software upgrade.

.img files are for re-imaging the IPS (Erases the configuration)

Hope this helps.
