Firewalls Active/Active Mode

Guys,

Could anyone explain me why to  use Active/Active Mode on Firewalls?

Also please provide all disadvantages of using this mode, from what I heard such mode could create many potential issues

hi,

you'll see on many cisco docs that active/active mode will provide load balancing and redundancy across the security contexts created on the ASA.

the disadvantages i could see are the price and complexity of design, configuration and troubleshooting for this approach.

asymmetric routing could happen if this isn't configured correctly.
