FTD - Contexts and Certificates

Hi,

1. Does FTD support multi-context mode? If not, then is there a best practice guide (or any suggestions?) on how to convert a ASA with multiple contexts to FTD? Eg: 1 context on ASA = 1 zone on FTD ? ??

2. Can I install an Identity Certificate on an ASA with FTD? I am aware that I cannot use VPN with FTD but still if I just want to install a identity certificate on ASA then can I do that?

Hello Team,

Multiple-context mode support is only available with ASA for now. FTD support
is tentatively targeted for late this or early next CY.

When you say install what is the motive do yo want to generate self signed certificate ?

Hi

On ASA we can install a identity certificate. Like generate a CSR on ASA and then get it signed from a CA i.e. get an identity cert from CA and install it on ASA.

Can I do the same thing with Firepower Mgmt Center for FTD image running on ASA?

Hello Team,

I have concluded that you dont have to generate a separate certificate for FTD. 

For  ASDM java part we are generating the identity cert . But for FTD you dont require any.
