Insufficient space for upgrade - IPS4345

Greetings,

I am attempting to upgrade the code on my Cisco IPS4345 (IPS-4345-K9 running OS version 2.6.29.1 code 7.1(4) and 7.1(6)). However, I am receiving an error similar to "The update requires xxxx KB in /usr/cids/idsRoot/var, there are only xxxx KB available after pmz cleanup."

On another form I found someone having a similar issue and it was suggested to perform the following commands. However, these commands are not accepted on my appliances (neither 7.1.4 or 7.1.6).

#rm -rf /usr/cids/idsRoot/var/updates/files/S69
#rm -rf /usr/cids/idsRoot/var/updates/files/common
#rm /usr/cids/idsRoot/var/virtualSensor/*
#rm /usr/cids/idsRoot/var/.tmp/*

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Joseph Hall

Hi,

Login to the IPS using Service account, if you don't have a service account create one.

With service account login you would be able to execute these commands.

Thanks

Jaga
