hi.does IPS perform any layer 3 routing at vlan pair deployment? i think that if i have two vlan (vlan 30 and 40) they must be the same ip subnet at vlan pair.am i rigth?

That's exactly as you are thinking my friend.
Also dont forget to filter other vlan traffic with "switchport trunk allowed vlan 30, 40" configuration on trunk port of the switch .
