We have a WS-SVC-ASA-SM1, and I wonder if it's possible to run the mtrace thru this FW. When I run it outside the FW, I see all the hops, but it failed when I run it thru the FW.
You need to enable multicast-routing and pim rp to make it work.... you can try after enabling it and check the igmp debug to show some lite on your issue...
