After putting in the new 16MB flash card, I get some error messages when booting as well as trying to write the conf. The error message is:
assertion "(addr & STRATA_SECTOR_MASK) == 0" failed: file "strata.c", line 307
strata_write_status: write timeout(10000) 0x1fNot success
Insufficient flash space available for this request:

Since I am new to all of this, I am in need of help!

Try upgrding the code to 5.25 or higher

I tried to upgrade to 6.11, using a 6.11 Boothelper disk since I cant use the copy tftp command. But it failed, saying my flash is obsolete and needs upgrading. I thought that what I just did...

why can't you do the copy tftp command,
I always use that.. it is the easiest way
what errors does it give you when you try that

You cant use it with a software release below 5.1
Do I need to do something on the PIX after I installed the Flash card, like clearing the flash or anything? I just put it in a free ISA slot and started it up again...

I REMEMBER...
You have to upgrade to 5.25 first then upgrade from there...
I know its stupid
:)

Hi Tobias,
I will do the same upgrade you did and I just want to be sure about the procedure.
First do the hardware thing and when the pix is up again, upgrade to version 5.25 and then to 6.11, is that OK?
The upgrade was with the boothelper or the tftp command?
Thanks,
Guillermo

Hi Guillermo!
Yes, that is correct. I had to use boothelper for the first upgrade, since I was running version 5.0(2). After the first upgrade there was no problem upgrading to 6.11 with tftp.
Dont forget to remove the old Flash card!
Have fun!
Tobias
