Hi,
I have setup a DHCP server, using the private 10.0.0.0 subnet. Unforunately it does not work. I have the Ip helper address defined on the router which is attached to the pix.
Does the Ip helper address have to be entered on the pix ?
If the same is tried with the public subnet currently used for our office, the dynamic IP assigning works fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions.

Wheres your DHCP server in relationship to the hosts you want it to serve? It cant be across the PIX.

Hi Kevin,
The DHCP server is on the same LAN, I am trying to use I am currently using NAT (PAT) for the internal network. THE DHCP server does not recognise the private 10.1.10.0 subnet. So I have used the pix as the gateway to try and resolve the isse, but still no joy.
Although I have had DHCP setup for the public address and that works fine. I just do not know what the problem is .
Any suggestions
Thanxs
