Hi all,
I have question about network interfaces in PIX Classic firewall. It has two interfaces Token Ring
(clasic PCI cards). And I want to remove them and replace with clasic Ethernet cards from PC.
So what about drivers for these cards and will be this possible?

JL,
basicly you do not need drivers for your NIC but the Firewall OS has to support your Fast Ethernet Interface (NIC).
You have to purchase a Cisco PIX Fast Ethernet Interface from your Cisco Vendors. Or just test if the NIC that you have are recoginised by your PIX Firewall.
PIX-1FE ONE 10/100 ETHERNET INTERFACE
PIX-4FE PIX FOUR-PORT 10/100 ETHERNET INTERFACE
PIX-1FE= ONE 10/100 MBPS ETHERNET INTERFACE. RJ45
PIX-1GE-66= SINGLE 66MHZ GIGABIT ETHERNET INTERFACE
PIX-4FE= PIX FOUR-PORT 10/100 ETHERNET INTERFACE

OK Patrick,
I will try some NIC cards.
What about OS on PIX? Should be there some special one? If yes could you recommend me some.

You do not have to install an OS, Cisco uses its own Firewall OS.
You can download it from the cisco Website but need to have a CCO Account to download the image. Do you have a support contract for your PIX Firewall ?
Download page:

Hi,
You can try with Intel NIC Cards as these were shipped out with earlier version of PIX Boxes. We have tried with PIX-525 and it actually worked.
