PIX PDM use....

Has anyone used the PDM to access a PIX from outside the network?? According to what I have read the PDM checks the ip of the client workstation and compares it to the internal interface IP before granting access. I want to use the PDM to manage a few client PIX's externally, anyone done this? Thanks.
