Based on vast experience can the experts recommend a syslog server to get logs from ASA and Routers.

On CCO you can find a syslog server dedicated to PIX, or ASA.

My suggestion would be syslog-ng by Balabit.

There is both a free, and a commercially supported version.
Very easy to set up on Linux, and extremely flexible configuration options. Takes a few minutes to get used to the configuration syntax but it's really quite simple.
syslog-ng supports TCP syslog streams, which the ASA also happens to support, and this is a big bonus.
