Hello,
I just completed an upgrade to VMS 2.3 Basic from an existing install of VMS 2.2. I installed from the main CD for the core components, than applied the VMS 2.1 upgrade, the VMS Patch, then the VMS cluster 1 patch.
Now, when accessing the IDSMC or SECMON applications, I get a "page cannot be displayed" error in the browser window that opens.
The URL for the IDSMC is:
Process status shows all processes running. Checking Services control panel shows all CiscoWorks services started. Checking Event Viewer indicates CmfDbEngine and ASANYs_SqlCoreDb start > can't access desktop > then successfully start.
Thoughts or ideas on how to fix?
Thanks,
Ken Wortendyke

Have you changed the IP address of the VMS server? Please try the following: correct the IP address conflict: Stop daemon manager (use 'net stop crmdmgtd'); Modify the following file: CSCOpx/MDC/etc/ids/xml/SystemConfig.xml;
Change the
/SystemConfig.xml ;and also copy it to CSCOpx/MDC/Tomcat/vms/ids-monitor/web-inf/classes/com/cisco/nm/mdc/ids/commo
n/SystemConfig .xml; Modify file: CSCOpx/PostOffice/etc/routes with correct host name and IP address; Restart daemon manager ('net start crmdmgtd')

I upgraded to VMS 2.3 recently as well.
I also encountered several "page cannot be displayed" errors within CiscoWorks.
I downloaded the VMS 2.3 update, but still had to install a newer version of the IDSMC. Make sure you have the latest, and I think there's even a minor update to the latest IDSMC/SecMon versions (2.1).
Heres the URL for the update to the 2.1 installation:
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/onebug.pl?bugid=CSCsb19306
Secondly, try rebooting the VMS server, clear out your web browser's cache, and remove any old certificates if you had to recreate the SSL certificate for VMS 2.3.
Hope that helps,

Thanks all. I ultimately uninstalled to a bare machine and reinstalled from scratch. Even after removing IDSMC/SECMON, then reinstalling those up to 2.1 with patches, it didn't work. It was evidently some form of problem with the Common Services DB.
