Win 2000 AD repl through PIX

I am seeing a strange situation with respect to the Windows 2000 File Replication (Active Directory) service

not taking place through an Pix firewall. The File Replication Service

under Windows 2000 uses really long names for DNS resolution. Simple name resolutions through nslookup at the Domain Controller work but,

they fail when the File Replication Service tries to do them as part of the automatic process through the PIX

Please help

Are the servers connected via an IPSec tunnel or just through opening ports? I have had no real issues with FRS thru an IPSec tunnel whatsoever - every now and then due to network traffic it might be delayed, but that is it.

Hi mate there are on sep Vlans and will be going through the PIx with open ports but it only works when I open all the high end ports but this is like swiss cheese 😞
