Windows Messenger vs PIX

In the Microsoft KB num.:Q307888 there is a statement about the messenger v4.x :

"If you are on a local area network (LAN) behind a firewall (for example, if you are on a corporate network), you can call another computer to talk to a person who is behind the same firewall that you are, however, you may not be able to connect on a computer-to-computer call with a person that is outside of the firewall."

Is these true with the PIX 6.x and a static translation ?

This depends on how the PIX has been configured. By default, outbound connections are implicitly allowed. But because of your corporate policy you might have disallowed implicit outbound connections, in which case the above statement is true.

Usually this is not the case and implicit outbound connections are almost always allowed - remember this is the default!

- if the configuration of the pix allow all the IP ports (out and in)

- with NAT/PAT or static translation or alias

the "fixup" of the PIX os support the Microsoft Messenger application ?
