CWJAVA.EXE maxing CPU on VMS server

Hello All,

I'm running VMS on a Compaq DL360 with a 1.2Ghz cpu and 1.5 GB memory = plenty of power to run VMS. Everytime I open the event viewer in the Security Monitor module, cwjava.exe hogs all my cpu utilization. It doesn't matter if I specify all events or just a day's worth. The events are comming from two IDSM version 1. Any insight will greatly be appreciated. thanks

Hi Damien,

You are most probably running into CSCeb00003. What all components are installed on this server? I hope Compaq Insight Manager is NOT installed on this server.

I have just the VMS packages (ids mc, pix mc, vpn monitor, security monitor - all installed per Cisco's recommendation with cd one, Common Services etc). And yes, I do have Compaq Insight Manager installed (bad?). Please advise. Thanks

Yes, the CIM causes resource conflicts with those that are used by the VMS components. Please uninstall CIM.
