general network security question

Greetings!  I have a AV device that's basically a pixel scraper that allows for a computer to project it's desktop onto it for presentations.  It has encryption built in, routing tables locally, and has no document sharing or pages.  What security risk does the device present to our data network?  We would like people to be able to seamlessly share their screens while connected to our network- they need drive access.  The device stores no information.  If the only risk is the device alone getting compromised, that would not be an issue.  Please share thoughts.  THANKS!

Just my opinion, I'd run a security scan on the box, lock down any vulnerabilities and since it has it's own routing table, only allow access to the needed inside networks (no default route) and possibly lock it down further with ACLs.
