Initial Setup For IDS

Simple question:

I want to configure my IDS

Cisco Systems Intrusion Detection Sensor, Version 4.1(1)S47

Platform: IDS-4215

I need some step by step links on how to accomplish this via CLI or GUI.

Also some links to read to understand how this device exactly works.

I already have the ip and the username..that's about it ;-)

you simply need to run "setup" and follow the prompts. sensor usually has two ports , 1 command and control, 2) Sniffer port.

you need to connect teh sniffer port to a hub or a switch where you want to detect the attack.

You have also to update your IDS signature via CLI ( upgrade command ) or via IDM ( connect https://ip-ISD)
