Hello everyone,
Hopefully a quick one here - we've just purchased some Meraki sensors (which are working great!) but I'm just checking with everyone to make sure I've not missed something. Is there a way we can get the notes to show as part of the table under Sensors > List? A very minor thing, I know, but we use the notes when we give the device an inventory number and it's more for convenience that we see it in this table. It's an odd one that this feature is available when viewing the access points though.
With thanks

Hi @ICT-Joe,
Thanks for bringing this up. I will submit this as a feature request to the development team for them to consider it in the future.

Meraki's does not support displaying the "Notes" field in the table view.
You can use Tags Instead of Notes. Tags can be viewed in the table and used for filtering, so if you're just recording something simple like an inventory number, this might be a viable option.

Thank you alemabrahao. I wasn't too sure if this was possible but it just threw me how you can have Notes on the Access Points but not the Sensors. Thanks for letting me know!

Going sideways, is this something you could implement using tags? You can display those.
The problems with notes - how do you display a potentially quite large note in a column? I don't think you could make the interface work unless the note was really small - and if it is really small - why not use a tag?

The other question is, why it is so difficult to implement it for the sensor table, as it is already working perfectly with switches and access points 😉

Hi Philip,
It's more just for consistency as this was what we implemented for the Access Points set up first. We use the Notes section as an area to write the inventory number for the access point, and then for the Tags feature, we were using this to limit SSID broadcasting. But if we do end up using the Tags feature to write in the inventory numbers, it's also fine.
