Hello
We have two of Cisco C9148S MDS san switch connected to EMC unity storage with multimode connection (DS-SFP-FC16G-SW) & (Avago 16Gb SFP+ SW).
as we need to relocate it, can I connect one of the MDS with the storage with single-mode dark fiber (DS-SFP-FC16G-LW) &(Avago 16Gb SFP+ LW)?
Appreciate your help
Thanks

- If both ends are using compatible single-mode fiber SFP's , then that should work ,
==> (edited/added). Since we are talking about dark fiber here ; consider it mandatory to have a test on it first before connecting it to the production equipment

@Mahmoud Marie You can connect two switches via long-wave SFPs over extended distances. You will need to adjust the number of buffer to buffer credits on the ports of the ISL in both directions. Information about calculating the number of buffer to buffer credits, and how to perform the tasks can be found here: Configuring Interface Buffers
If you want to connect within the data center, yes you can connect end devices such at storage arrays to MDS switches using single-mode fiber.
