Scenario: Cisco MDS9509 3 vsans (Prod, SRDF, Backup)
Question: I would like to set the Prod vsan as the principal switch
I have set static domain ids
prod = 1
srdf = 3
backup = 5
How would I do this?
Regards.

Howdy,
You need to set your switch priority. If you do not set the switch priority, the switch with the lowest wwn will be selected as the principal.
from the command line it is...
fcdomain priority [number]

Thanks Andrew.
Just to be clear:
conf t
fcdomain priority 1
exit
This would set the prod vsan i.e. fcdomain 1 to the principal switch?

G'day,
The syntax is correct, however switch priority is not based per vsan.
It will cause the switch you are on to become the principal switch for all vsan's than are trunked.
Cheers
Andrew
