difference between cisco mds switch "copy running-config" and cisco fabric manager "backup"

Dear All,

I'm a newbie and I'm trying to understand something about my old CISCO MDS 9513 switch.

I would like to save current switch config and zoning in order to preserve them.

I read that I can do a config save using this command from switch command line or from Cisco Device Manager:

copy running-config tftp:server:file

But I read also that, from Cisco Fabric Manager, I can do a configuration backup  and save it to an external host.

Could you please help me to understand the difference between the two way of configuration backup or export?

Thank you in advance,

Mauro

The most important step is: copy running startup and make sure any changes made in the running config are saved and availabe in case of a reboot.

If both configs are identical, either command copy running tftp: or copy startup tftp: gives the same result.
