FCoE on 1 gig

Hi All,

I know that FCoE should be running on lossless and enhanced ethernet, i.e 10G and higher. I want to know that is it technically possible to run FCoE on 1Gig ? i mean can we do such a configuration in cisco or any other vendor ?

Hi John,

No Cisco product supports FCoE over 1G.  Fibre Channel moves too much data to be constrained to such a slow speed which is why the industry standard uses 10G.
