Folks,
I am thinking about buying 2 9210 MDS series switches for home lab. I checked the list price on them and it is around $14,000 each.
I wanted to find out if i could use all the features that this switch has to over (IVR, Read-only Zones, etc) in the home lab?? or would i have to unlock these features by entering a special license key.
Also, does anyone know what license would the switch come with by default?
Many thanks

IVR and read-only zoning are not part of the base package and are licensed features. The following is a data sheet on the enterprise license:

Depending on your budget, I would consider one of your switches being a 9216i, it has 2 GiGE ports for iSCSI & FCIP. You cannot do FCIP to the same MDS but later you can invest in a second 9216i to do FCIP. You at least have iSCSI with 1 9216i.

I would have to get a license file to unlock IVR, i was hoping to see how it works using standart package. This is for home use only. Is it possible? or the feature has to be unlocked using a license key?
Thanks

The feature sets have a 120 day grace period. So you can turn it on ~4 months. After that, the features will be disabled.
