Understanding CDR (Call Detail Records)

Where can I find information that describes the things consumers care about when they are comparing CDR reporting capabilities such as:   

  • How often is the raw data processed and records updated?
  • What standard reports are provided?
  • What fields are included in the reports?
  • Are all fields searchable?
  • Can records be sorted or configured for custom reports by department?
  • Do reports provide analytics for information such as traffic loads or peak calling?
  • Describe how the records are set to automatically purged after a designated time frame?  

I see a lot of config info etc. geared for admins, but I can't find customer facing info.
