Yes i would do it manually on the the switch n thats it.  Only if you add a vlan on the core in the future , you may need to add it to the access switch. 

I would agree on this , i would do the same thing.  How many vlans are you looking to forward over to this switch ?

Looks like VTP is not supported on that model switch , however you can use GVRP they almost the same technology. 

What model switch are you using?
