IPG files are constructed in pairs. There is a “guide info” file and a “long description” file. There shall be a pair for each individual future day. The files shall be named as follows: • Guide Info File: IPGgi## • Long Description Files: IPGld##@ where ## is a 2-digit, zero-padded, decimal number. The number is the calendar day of the month (01..31) that the file’s contents represents. Long Descriptions for a day may be broken up across multiple files. (See the Long Description Records section for more information.) The “@” in the Long Description file name is an alpha character ‘a’..’z’, indicating the sequence number of the long description files for that day (‘a’ is the first file, ‘b’ is the second file, etc.)

There are a few ways to connect to the craft port of the Netcrypt. The easiest way is to use a rollover cable (a flat RJ-45 terminated cable, pins reversed at each end) with a standard Sun chrome RJ-45 to DE-9 adapter. The baby blue Cisco DE-9 to RJ-45 cable will not work. We've had problems connecting to Netcrypts in the field when using a Cisco terminal server, these were resolved by using the following pin out. You need to construct a custom RJ-45 to DE-9 adapter, and connect to it with a straight through (standard Ethernet) cable. You can get the Netcrypt Serial Number through telnet connection by using the command 'e2prom_settings', then use a 0 to exit the command. The command provide a long list of item with Netcrypt information, you can see that item 21 has the Hardware Version. And inside that line of data you see D9671-1Axxxxxxx000... with Model number D9671-1A then serial number where the x's are.
