That was fixed 5 years ago.

This is the version whose source code is in the OpenDNS Github repository, and that bug was one of the first things that got fixed.
Using the IP updater or the authentication mechanisms on the FamilyShield IPs is not useless.
Connecting to the FamilyShield IPs *adds* blocked categories to the ones that were already blocked.
So if you are blocking the Alcohol category on your IP, ...
