You better off to patch secondaries first and then patch the primary ACS. You may to schedule your patching procedure in a way that you patching one ACS at a time - letting it restart and recover. At this time your devices will fail over to another ACS instance. After patched ACS will resume service you can work on another ACS in the deployment.

Good news and bad news Yes there is command line utiliy for that, unfortunately - it is no avalable from regular CLI. So called root access have to be installed by Cisco TAC support in order to reveal this command.

Hi Brad. If your LDAPs are behind load balancer, so this devide takes care about availability and failover. ACS "sees" just one virtual IP. Load balancer, in turn, may use special "keep-alive" packets on speicified port in order to check LDAPs availability and latency. If you see no failover on you LDAP servers which are behing LB, please, check load balancer configuration first. P.S. ACS uses no special "keep alive" - you just confugring two LDAP servers and internal logic switches from first to second after timeout.

Right ACS for WIndows (whatewer version you have) will run on Windows 2003 server (see inatllation requirements for details) ACS 5.X exists only as appliance or VMWare image. In general - appliance is more hardened in terms of viruses and intrusions

Hi Bruce. ACS 1120 is HW version of the appliance. It is shipped with ACS 5.0 preinstalled and ACS 4.2 on, so called, recovery CD. Check with your PO what your company purchased exactly. If ACS 4.2 is what you purchased, so yes, you should instert disk labelled ACS 4.2 and follow the instructions.

Hi Aaron. It looks that ACS View subprocesses are not running for whatewer reason or some DB tables became inconsistent. Please, try to restart View services by issuing commands: OTT-ACS5-5/admin# acs start ? view-alertmanager Start view-alertmanager view-collector Start view-collector view-database Start view-database view-jobmanager Start view-jobmanager view-logprocessor Start view-logprocessor Carriage return. OTT-ACS5-5/admin# You may want to restart whole box if problem persist. There are debug logs for ACS View probably shedding some light on that. you will need increase logging level for View components and collect support bundle which will include files and information. If you have service agreement with Cisco - then, please contact TAC and they will help you analyzing log files.
