Greetings FolksThis may be a little off topic, but my exhaustive searching has left me empty handed so I figured I'd ask.I am looking for OS information. Specifically I'm looking for the command(s) I can use to look at the PATH MTU discovery informat...
I am trying to decipher what each of these are. My understanding is that one of them is a cisco proprietary version of STP, and that 802.1s is a standardized version that opperates similar to the cisco one, but the descriptions and whether is MST MST...
My understanding (and please correct me if I'm wrong) is that if I am running PVST than I am running the standard 802.1d STP but on a per vlan basis, and if there is a trunk that ISL would be used across the trunk, (PVST+ is the same but uses 802.1q ...
Many of the STP commands give you a "cost" value as part of their output. I'm trying to decipher between which of these is a cost of the interface and which is the cumulative cost to reach the root. Is there a command that will specifically show me t...

Thanks for the reply. I had previously read that web page, it only contains information about how to disable path mtu discovery. Or to reset the mtu size of an interface. Not how to look at the info. I'm trying to find out how to view the path mtu in...
I believe the auto to which you refer is the speed and duplex autonegotiation setting. I'm pretty sure that if the switch can autodetect straight thru vs crossover (some can, some can't) then it will do that without any intervention on the users part...
if you can't ping the management interface from the switch, then I don't think the VLAN issue would cause the problem. My gut feeling n reading the original post was that you simply needed to do a interface vlan 1no shutbecause it was never initially...
