Am configuring up a new ASR9901, but there is no option available to set up the day light saving options - ie there is no "clock summer-time" command. clRP/0/RSP0/CPU0:Router-new(config)#clock ? timezone Configure time zone Is there possibly another way of setting this up. Regards

I now have a permanent enterprise license to be installed in flash and to envoke using the appropriate "license install bootflash:xxxxxxxx.lic" command, would I need to reboot/reload the switch to apply the permanent license, noting it is already running the right-to-use enterprise option ?

If I envoke the right to use Enterprise license option on a new Sup 8L-E and apply for a permanent license via a PAK that was purchased at the same time - do I actually need to install the newly supplied license via the PAK process or can this be kept seperately as proof of purchasing an enterprise license ?

Thanks for that.
Have already tried what you have suggested re the bfd all-interfaces under the routing process.
Have also tried the configs under a physical port and the only options are to enable ip ospf bfd. There are no other options to configure the bfd timers.
Many Thanks

FYI.
I was planning to implement a bfd solution on a 4503-E with a Sup 7L-E running cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.02.SG.151-2.SG2.bin under a number of layer 3 svi interfaces, but have hit an issue in that under the svi interface I have the option to enter th "ip ospf bfd" command.
However there are no other bfd commands under the svi interface and also no global bfd commands such as sh bfd neighbours.
Documentation I've read indcates that it is supported.
Question is - is bfd suppported with the above sup / image ?
What's required to get it working on this switch ?
Kind Regards

What is the recommended option in a very simplistic FabricPath domain/network using a couple of Nexus 7K's as the spine connected via a vpc+ link with a combination of Nexus 6K/5K leaf switches, each switch pairs with their own vpc+ link between them with regard to setting the vlan root priority using either of the following: 1/ spanning-tree vlan x-y priority 4096 2/ spanning-tree pseudo-information vlan x-y root priority 4096

Does anyone have any examples of configuring ISO-IGRP over an ATM to Frame network, using sub interfaces on both the ATM and Frame interfaces ?

I have a Cisco 4006 switch with a WS-X4448-GB-RJ45 where two port's are exhibiting extremely high numbers of TxPause counters. Attached to these two ports Win 2K servers. show port flowcontrol below: AKmdrBAKSW1> (enable) sh port flowcontrol 4/5 Port Send FlowControl Receive FlowControl RxPause TxPause Unsupported admin oper admin oper opcodes ----- -------- -------- --------- --------- ---------- ---------- ----------- 4/5 on on desired on 0 1629850 0 Question: Is this an unusual situation where it would appear that flowcontrol is being initiated on a regular basis ... average port utilisation of the gig interface is 10%? Any possible options to improve performance ?

Don .... Many thanks for your advice/info. We currently have an OSI network based on the "Cisco" model, but run ISO-IGRP within its core to allow for filtered re-distribution between ISIS and ISO-IGRP and works well. However with the introduction of these new network elements, they have introduced difficulties when trying to integrate them into our current network, hence the options of exploring other alternatives. Regards John

Don ... Thanks for the info. I had an inkling that this solution was not viable, but needed to confirm. Would terminating the atm vc's on a single router (3662 Telco) and then setting the pvc's up such they were in say 3 bridge groups and configuringing 3 area addresses on the router work ? ie.. BV1 area 1 --- 80 pvcs in bridge group one BV2 area 2 --- 80 pvc's in bridge group two BV3 area 3 --- 80 pvc's in bridge group three What is the max recommended area's that the 3662 telco router can support ? Many Thanks.

I am currently researching a management/dcn solution for managing network elements, which use the OSI protocol (Alcatel Litespan Nodes) I am intending to transport the OSI management link via an atm pvc to a central site terminating on a Cisco 3662 router (Telco option). Potentially there could be up to 250 atm subinterfaces configured, which are mapped to the above managemnt links (pvc's). My intention is to configure ISIS routing on each sub interface (atm pvc) and have each network element in its own unique isis area. I also will need to configure under the "router isis" process a NET for each terminating isis area. This potentiall could result with up to 250 NET's being configured. 1/ Is this a viable solution using the 3662 with the Telco feature and extending the "max-area-addresses" under the "router isis" process to cater for the no. of attached area's ? 2/ Are there other options I should persue ? 3/ If 1 above is a viable solution, will each network element in each of the unique areas cache info about the other network elements in those area's other than itself's area.
