Was the Netopia going over a VPN tunnel? Was the encryption similar? You might try turning off the fixup protocol. They could be using the extended smtp command set.Thanks,Ted
Do you have the NAT statements on the Pix? Have you created an ACL, or Conduit to permit icmp traffic? Are you trying to ping outside, or to a dmz interface, or from the outside to the inside?
The answer to your question is yes and no. You will more than likely allow any into your web server. I would still put a deny above the permit, denying all inside address ranges, in the outside interface for any destination. This will help prevent...
