I agree the SMC router NAT is the issue and there is no way I can set it up properly so I will be using it in bridge mode only and will purchase an edge router to handle everything.

I have a very similar problem with that exact router and switch. Did you find a solution that works for you?

Tried making that change but figured it would not work since the router I'm using is not vlan aware and likely would not pass tagged packets. Exhibits the exact same behavior whether a trunk or access port.
