I have 5 AIR-AP1231G-A-K9s. SW - 12.2(15)XR2. My clients which have 802.11g cards are fine. Most, not all clients with 802.11b cards constantly lose connection. Radio settings are set to either channel 1,6,11. Data Rate is set to default, only 1,2...
I can but I noticed they work better when 11m is required. I have tried to down grade the units in areas where I don't need 802.11g to 802.11b by disabling all rates but 1,2,5.5,11.
