端口速率运行模式
6904可以在配有SUP2T的6500-E系列机箱上使用, 不支持早期推出的non-E机箱.
从端口速率配置的角度来看,6904有3种运行模式:
-40 Gigabit模式
-10 Gigabit模式
-混合模式
可以使用 show hw-module slot # operation mode 命令查看端口运行模式的状态.

40 Gigabit模式
当6904运行在40 Gigabit模式, 每个端口使用一个40 Gigabit CFP光模块(C Form-Factor Pluggable ), 6904最多可以提供4个40 Gigabi端口.

前面板被逻辑的划分为2个portgroup: 左手边port1和port2属于portgroup1, 右手边port3和port4属于portgroup2. 端口命名规则如图:
默认是运行在40G模式,这些端口在配置文件中,使用前缀FortyGigabitEthernet. 例如6500E机箱中第3槽位的6904板卡的port2被命名为FortyGigabitEthernet3/2.
10 Gigabit模式
当6904运行在10 Gigabit模式, 使用FourX Adapter(FourX适配器/转换器), 每个端口可以转换成4个10 Gigabit端口, 6904最多可以提供16个10 Gigabit端口.前面板的端口被分为左右两部分, 左边是port 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 右边是port 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. 端口命名规则如图:
FourX Adapter
启用10 Gigabit模式,会将整个portgroup划入10G模式, 而不是将单一的接口划入10G模式.
例如, 使用hw-module slot # operation-mode port-group 1 TenGigabitEthernet命令将portgroup1划入10G模式. 此时,前面板左手边的所有接口都运行在10G模式.修改运行模式时,6904板块重启后才生效.

混合模式
在混合模式中,6904左手边和右手边的端口可以分别运行在10G或者40G模式. 也就是说, 如果一侧使用2个CFP,将提供2个40G端口, 另一侧视同2个FourX,将提供8个10G端口. 没有附加命令去开启混合模式,只需将portgroup划入相应的运行模式即可.
端口Performance模式
6904有两种performance模式:
-oversubscription模式
-performance模式
这2种模式,也是影响整个portgroup,而不是单个接口. 默认, 板块是运行在oversubscription模式, 每个槽位可以提供80GB背板带宽供4个40G端口或者16个10G端口使用,产生2:1的oversubscription率.
可以使用show hw-module slot X oversubscription查看当前的performance模式.

开启performance模式, 将会shut down每个portgroup里相应的端口,port-to-fabric带宽oversubscription率将从2:1降至1:1.
在40G的performance模式中, port1和port3会保持active, 其他端口将会被shut down.
在10G的performance模式中, port 5,6,7,8和13,14,15,16会保持active,其他端口将会被shut down.

混合模式
在混合模式中,6904左手边和右手边的端口可以分别运行在10G或者40G模式. 也就是说, 如果一侧使用2个CFP,将提供2个40G端口, 另一侧视同2个FourX,将提供8个10G端口. 没有附加命令去开启混合模式,只需将portgroup划入相应的运行模式即可.
