Hi community

If I have a 5 APICs to be deployed for Multi-Pod (2 Pods), is it recommended to deploy all as active or leave one as standby?

Thanks a lot.

Hi @tuanquangnguyen

Short answer: 4 APICs + 1 Standby (supported starting with 4.1.1). Reason: because you avoid total loss of shards in case of POD hw failure where the three APICs are deployed.

For a detailed response, please have a look here: https://community.cisco.com/t5/application-centric/operation-process-in-case-of-apic-cluster-failure/m-p/4062605

Stay safe,
