ACI Multi Site Licensing

Hello All,

Question on multi site licensing.  Is the Multi site orchestrator ( ACI-MSITE-VAPPL= ) required/included if one has the Advantage licenses for the leaves (CON-ECMU-ACIADXF / ACI-AD-XF).

Hi,

ACI Multi-Site requires purchase of the following:

1. ACI spine-leaf architecture with an APIC cluster for each fabric
2. License for the multi-site virtual appliance:
ACI-MSITE-VAPPL= (this single SKU is sold as a cluster of 3 virtual machines)
3. One ACI Advantage license per leaf for all of the connected fabrics

Ok. So with the leaf license purchase there is a second purchase of the multisite orchestrator.

Do we need ACI Advantage license for Spines in order to implement Multi-Site or just leaf switches?

The advantage license is only for Leaf switches, No advantage license option for spine switches. we can purchase add-on licenses only for spine switches such as CloudSec or MACsec licenses.

Hi All,

As way of update just in case others are looking, and perhaps this can be verified by others as I do not count myself as an expert here, but, I do believe this has since changed.

The document now (March 8, 2021) lists the following information:

"Cisco ACI Multi-Site requires purchase of the following:

1. ACI spine-leaf architecture with an APIC cluster for each fabric
2. One DCN Advantage license per leaf for all of the connected fabrics

*Multi-site appliance will be provided as part of the Advantage or Premier
leaf license to manage and configure multiple fabric"

So, it appears that the licensing for MSO is now part of the leaf licensing.
