We have three APIC appliances in our environment and the business changed its mind and they don't want to go with ACI anymore. Now we want to rebuild them with bare metal hypervisor so we can use them as compute for our Engineering environment, is it doable or there is limitation in doing so?

Hi Yash,
Even if it is technically doable, Cisco will not support you for that device if you run into any hardware issue.
Don't think reusing it as BM server is even an option!
Even idea of not going with ACI seems to be hypothetical after purchasing the product.

Jayesh

Cisco came back to us confirming the support of it after conversion, so seems like it is an option.

Did you ever manage to get this to work? I have the same deal, where we have 3 APIC's and aren't going to implement ACI. Is it as easy as using the CIMC to install VMware?
