Dear All ,

We have 3 node APIC Cluster and its working fine .But one of the APIC mode goes down and claimed for RAM .We got the RMA APIC node  and trying to add this node into the Cluster .

Please assist me how can I add this RMA APIC node into the Cluster . do I need to add this node manually from very beginning or I need to add same Cluster node ID  and then it will automatically add to the Cluster .

I am waiting for your valuable comments on this regards

Erfan,

If this RMA was performed as part of an existing Service Request, I would strongly recommend following up with the owner of that Service Request for assistance with replacing the APIC if you are having trouble.

With that said, the following documentation goes through the steps needed for replacing an APIC.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/cloud-systems-management/application-policy-infrastructure-controller-apic/118918-technote-aci-00.html

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/aci/apic/sw/kb/b_KB_Cluster_Management.html#concept_790675923AF74168A09FB48A092A7361

At a high level, the steps will be the following:

  1. Make note of the configuration parameters and image of the APIC being replaced.

  2. Decommission the APIC you want to replace (see Decommissioning a Cisco APIC Controller in the Cluster Using the GUI

  3. Commission the replacement APIC using the same configuration and image of the APIC being replaced (see Commissioning a Cisco APIC Controller in the Cluster Using the GUI)
