In-Band Management

Dear all,

I would like to ask about the in-band management for the APIC.

The goal is to provide the connectivity between APIC and vCenter, where vCenter serves as a VM on the top of VMWare (VMM domain will be created too at the host/server).

I do think that most people use OOB for connecting APIC and vCenter because it is much easier, and better implementation, where it's separated from in band traffic.

At this video guide,

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/aci/apic/sw/1-x/getting-started/video/cisco_apic_configure_mgmt_access_using_gui.html

There's no any configuration for static path for the in band management EPG.

Only:

1. Create Basic steps, like access policies, int policy group, switch profile, physical domain, vlan pool for the leaf where the APIC are connected, and for the leaf where the VMM domain will be created.

2. Giving subnets for the Bridge domain, give encap vlan to the epg, and provided contract.

3. Configure the IP for the APIC, leaf and spine.

So the question is, do we need static path for the leaf where the APIC is connected for using the in band management epg?

And how about the vCenter, it's on top of the hypervisor, do I need to configure static path too for the host where vCenter is created?

Thanks,

Osbin
