Possible to enable LLDP or CDP on Leaf uplink interfaces

hi all,

I'm trying to understand whether it's possible to enable LLDP or CDP on the fabric interfaces, i.e. the interfaces that connect the leaves to the spine.

I'm trying to use a Solarwinds Orion Maps and it doesn't detect the connection perspective, as I believe it depends on SNMP to poll the relevant CDP/LLDP OIDs.

I can see it's possible to enable cdp and lldp on access ports within ACI and that all works fine, but can't figure out if it's possible to do so on fabric ports.

cheers!

Steve

LLDP is enabled by default on fabric ports.

Leaf1201# show lldp ne interface e1/54
Capability codes:
  (R) Router, (B) Bridge, (T) Telephone, (C) DOCSIS Cable Device
  (W) WLAN Access Point, (P) Repeater, (S) Station, (O) Other

Sergiu

Thanks Sergiu,

Yeah I made an error in mentioning LLDP, I can see indeed that LLDP is available, however for some reason Solarwinds isn't picking up LLDP information via SNMP, only CDP seems to get picked up.

Is it possible to enable CDP between fabric interfaces?

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve,

Its not possible to enable CDP between fabric connected interfaces.
