Could anyone point me to a documentation where the role of CSR routers used in cAPIC deployment is explained? cAPIC design guide or something similar.

The CSR 1000V is used to create an IPSec VPN with your on-premise ACI network to perform the BGP EVPN control plane in AWS, and route between VPCs.
