Hello,
We have a small ACI in our lab, 2 spines, 2 leaves and one APIC in 4.2(5k). I'm trying to add some virtual APICs to have a 3-members cluster, but can't make the vAPIC join the cluster.
The OVA deployment works fine, the virtual APIC starts and I can ping its OOB and infra IP, but it never appears in the cluster.
I tried to delete the VM, recreate it with an APIC passphrase with a higher expiration time, but without more success :(

Make sure the Passphrase has >30mins remaining for validity before configuring it on the vAPIC VM. Also ensure the Date/Time is accurate on the vAPIC VM.

Hello Robert,
I did see your answer on this topic : https://community.cisco.com/t5/application-centric/virtual-apic-question/m-p/4146474
So the last time I tried, I waited for a new APIC passphrase, so it had enough time remaining.
Date/time seems correct on the ESXi host and the vAPIC (checked it using the rescue-user and the date command).
Still doesn't work though

Is the vAPIC version matched w/ your physical APIC?

Yes, both are 4.2(5k)

Did you bump the Cluster Size?

The cluster size is 3

I have same problem. Did you manage to fix your issue and get the vAPIC to join the cluster?
Thanks

The 'infra" Port Group used by the vAPIC VM on the vCenters side - how is it configured? (VLAN ID etc).
