ACNS cache cleanup

Hi,

This is regarding a little bit of maintenance.

What happens if after prepositioning the content the content is modified and let's say half of it is actually deleted from the origin server?

Is the content automatically deleted from the remote CE?

I found the following commands that seem to be doing just that

cdnfs cleanup start

acquistion-distribution database-cleanup

Can I use to them to 'synchronize' the remote cache with the origin server?

Is there a better way of doing it and is it safe to used them?

Rafal,

If you have used a crawl job from the CDM GUI or an external manifest to preposition the files, you can kick off the crawl job again from the GUI. It should synch your files on all the CEs in the channel with what is on the the origin server (additions and deletes). These crawl jobs can also be timed to repeat daily, etc. so you don't have manually do this if desired.

CDNFS cleanup only looks for issues (orphin channels, etc) in the CDNFS database/partition and cleans them up. It doesn't kick off a synch with the origin server.

The acq-dist data-cleanup command cleans the a&d database to maintain consistancy. It will not assist in starting A&D of a channel either.

You need to have the channel check for files via Acq and Distribution.

Hoe that helps,

Dan

I am using the CDM GUI, but in initial testing might be adding and removing channels so it sounds like this where cdnfs cleanup might be handy.

Thanks for you help.
