Hello Nepros,

We would like to re-image or even format our ACNS and start over again.

Can any one provide us with some details?

Thank you

Hi Panayiotis,

This exact procedure depends on what you need to do. If you just want to restore an empty configuration, you can use the command "ACNS# restore factory-default"

If you, however, would like to do a full reinstall of the software, then, you would need to use the rescue CD for that. You can download it from

http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=280449918&flowid=120&softwareid=280836717&release=5.5.23&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

Once you have booted from the CD, you will get to a menu. In that one, the options you need to choose for a full reinstall of the software are (in order):

  • 2 - Manufacture flash
  • 3 - Install flash cookie
  • 5 - Install flash image from CD-rom
  • 7 - Wipe out disks and install .bin image

I hope this helps

Daniel
